Southeast Roofing & Construction

Michael Parsons, President and Peter Arsuaga, Vice President

At the heart of Southeast Roofing & Construction are two leaders who bring decades of experience, a strong work ethic, and a shared dedication to quality: Michael Parsons, President, and Peter Arsuaga, Vice President. Together, they’ve built a company known for its expertise in roofing, general construction, windows, and doors—serving communities across Florida and the Southeastern U.S. with pride since 2007.

Their approach is rooted in hands-on experience, deep industry knowledge, and a commitment to doing things the right way. Whether working on a residential project in the Florida Panhandle or overseeing a multi-roof installation in North Carolina, Michael and Peter bring the same level of care and professionalism to every job.

Michael Parsons – President

As President and co-founder of the company, Michael Parsons has been leading the team since the company’s founding in 2007. With over 20 years of experience in the roofing industry, Michael’s knowledge spans every facet of the trade, from hands-on installation to project management and client communication. He specializes in roofing, general construction, windows, and doors—fields he has been working in and studying for more than two decades.

Michael is a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast region. He graduated from Catholic High School in Pensacola, where he was the quarterback of the football team, and later earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of West Florida. His educational background, combined with his technical expertise, gives him a strong foundation for running a successful construction company, blending strategic thinking with practical field knowledge.

Since starting the business, Michael has been deeply involved in a wide range of projects throughout Florida and neighboring states. His recent work includes a Decra roof installation in Sarasota, FL, a high-end roofing product known for its durability and aesthetics. He has also overseen both shingle and metal roofing projects in Hendersonville, North Carolina, and numerous installations across Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties in Northwest Florida.

Michael’s leadership style is hands-on and rooted in collaboration. He works closely with clients, crews, and suppliers to ensure every job runs smoothly and meets the company’s standards for quality and professionalism. He believes in delivering not just a finished product, but a positive customer experience from start to finish.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time on the golf course. His love for sports and competition—dating back to his time as a high school quarterback—still plays a role in how he approaches challenges: with focus, determination, and the drive to improve.

Peter Arsuaga – Vice President

Serving as Vice President, Peter Arsuaga brings a unique background to the business. Before stepping into the world of construction, Peter served as a sub-mariner in the United States Navy—a career that taught him discipline, precision, and the importance of mission readiness. These qualities translate seamlessly into the work he does today, managing projects with the kind of care and efficiency that clients immediately recognize and appreciate.

Peter joined forces with Michael and has since become an essential part of Southeast Roofing & Construction’s growth and success. With a deep knowledge of roofing, windows, doors, and general construction, Peter oversees a wide range of residential and commercial projects. He takes particular pride in the company’s hands-on approach—every job is treated with the same level of dedication, whether it’s a single-family home or a large-scale installation.

Peter has helped lead some of the company’s most ambitious projects, including complex shingle and metal roofing installs in Hendersonville, NC, Baton Rouge, LA, Douglasville, GA Mobile, AL and throughout the Florida Panhandle. His methodical, boots-on-the-ground leadership ensures that timelines are met, quality is upheld, and clients are kept informed every step of the way.

When he's not coordinating teams or sourcing the best materials, Peter can often be found enjoying the surf. An avid surfer, he finds balance and inspiration in the water.

A Commitment to Craftsmanship and Community

Together, Michael and Peter have built a company that’s as committed to people as it is to projects. With more than 20 years of hands-on roofing and construction experience behind them, they’ve created a business model based on trust, communication, and superior craftsmanship.

Their team specializes in roofing solutions ranging from traditional shingles to high-performance metal systems, as well as Decra stone-coated steel products that offer the best of both worlds—durability and elegance. In addition to roofing, the company is known for expert installations of windows and doors, helping customers protect and beautify their homes from the inside out.

Though their projects span multiple states, Michael and Peter have a special place in their hearts for Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties, where they’ve completed countless residential and commercial jobs. Their reputation for honest pricing, professional work, and follow-through has made them a go-to choice in the region for years.

Looking Ahead

As they continue to grow, Michael Parsons and Peter Arsuaga remain focused on what brought them into the industry in the first place: a desire to serve their community through quality construction and dependable service. They believe in doing things the right way—from the first handshake to the final inspection—and in creating structures that stand the test of time.

They take pride in every project, large or small, and are proud to serve the communities they work and live in. Whether it’s replacing a roof, installing new windows and doors, or planning a larger construction project, Michael and Peter bring the experience, commitment, and care to get it done right.

If you're looking to install a new roof, replace windows and doors, or start a more complex construction project, you can count on Michael and Peter to lead with experience, integrity, and a genuine commitment to excellence.

What Is the Fortified Roofing Program? The FORTIFIED Home™ program , run by the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS), provides construction and retrofit guidelines to strengthen homes against severe weather. It includes three tiers: FORTIFIED Roof: Reinforces the roof system. FORTIFIED Silver: Adds enhancements like reinforced windows and doors. FORTIFIED Gold: Implements a continuous load path—integrating roof, walls, and foundation for maximum resilience. Strengthen Alabama Homes: State-Level Support Alabama’s Department of Insurance administers the Strengthen Alabama Homes (SAH) program, which provides significant financial and insurance incentives for homeowners: Grants up to $10,000 for eligible primary residences to retrofit to a FORTIFIED standard. Insurance Premium Discounts: FORTIFIED Roof: ~25–35% FORTIFIED Silver: ~35–45% FORTIFIED Gold: ~45–55% off the wind portion of homeowner’s insurance. Tax Deduction: Homeowners may deduct the lesser of 50% of retrofit costs or $3,000 from their gross income. Proven Impact & Scale Inception & Reach: The program began around 2015–2016. Since then, over 8,700 homes have received retrofits through more than $86 million in grants. Coverage & Adoption: Alabama has over 50,000 FORTIFIED-certified homes—comprising a large majority (~80%) of all such homes nationwide. Effectiveness: Homes built or retrofitted to FORTIFIED standards experienced 55–74% fewer insurance claims, with 14–40% less severe losses—as demonstrated during Hurricane Sally in 2020. Insurance Market Stabilization: The initiative has helped stabilize Alabama’s insurance market, with substantial premium reductions and more insurers willing to write policies in previously high-risk areas. Application Process & Community Insights How to Apply: Go to: https://www.strengthenalabamahomes.com/ Register online and upload required documents (e.g., proof of homeowner’s insurance and tax details). Hire a certified FORTIFIED evaluator. Southeast Roofing & Construction is a Fortified Contractor. Receive and compare three contractor bids. Work completed by certified contractors; grant funds are paid directly to them. Once work passes inspection, the home is certified FORTIFIED. Certification Renewal: FORTIFIED certification must be renewed every five years to maintain insurance benefits. Community Experiences: Many residents report fierce demand upon application openings—"like getting Taylor Swift tickets," as one official put it. Reddit users recount how the program helped fully retrofit homes, significantly reduced insurance costs, and was considered well worth the effort. Why It Matters This program has proven cost-effective and resilience-building, offering: Direct financial support for homeowners. Major insurance savings and better insurability. Measurable reduction in damage and claims. A blueprint that other states—like Louisiana, Mississippi, and South Carolina—are already modeling.
