Southeast Roofing & Construction

Michael Parsons, President and Peter Arsuaga, Vice President

At the heart of Southeast Roofing & Construction are two leaders who bring decades of experience, a strong work ethic, and a shared dedication to quality: Michael Parsons, President, and Peter Arsuaga, Vice President. Together, they’ve built a company known for its expertise in roofing, general construction, windows, and doors—serving communities across Florida and the Southeastern U.S. with pride since 2007.

Their approach is rooted in hands-on experience, deep industry knowledge, and a commitment to doing things the right way. Whether working on a residential project in the Florida Panhandle or overseeing a multi-roof installation in North Carolina, Michael and Peter bring the same level of care and professionalism to every job.

Michael Parsons – President

As President and co-founder of the company, Michael Parsons has been leading the team since the company’s founding in 2007. With over 20 years of experience in the roofing industry, Michael’s knowledge spans every facet of the trade, from hands-on installation to project management and client communication. He specializes in roofing, general construction, windows, and doors—fields he has been working in and studying for more than two decades.

Michael is a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast region. He graduated from Catholic High School in Pensacola, where he was the quarterback of the football team, and later earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of West Florida. His educational background, combined with his technical expertise, gives him a strong foundation for running a successful construction company, blending strategic thinking with practical field knowledge.

Since starting the business, Michael has been deeply involved in a wide range of projects throughout Florida and neighboring states. His recent work includes a Decra roof installation in Sarasota, FL, a high-end roofing product known for its durability and aesthetics. He has also overseen both shingle and metal roofing projects in Hendersonville, North Carolina, and numerous installations across Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties in Northwest Florida.

Michael’s leadership style is hands-on and rooted in collaboration. He works closely with clients, crews, and suppliers to ensure every job runs smoothly and meets the company’s standards for quality and professionalism. He believes in delivering not just a finished product, but a positive customer experience from start to finish.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time on the golf course. His love for sports and competition—dating back to his time as a high school quarterback—still plays a role in how he approaches challenges: with focus, determination, and the drive to improve.

Peter Arsuaga – Vice President

Serving as Vice President, Peter Arsuaga brings a unique background to the business. Before stepping into the world of construction, Peter served as a sub-mariner in the United States Navy—a career that taught him discipline, precision, and the importance of mission readiness. These qualities translate seamlessly into the work he does today, managing projects with the kind of care and efficiency that clients immediately recognize and appreciate.

Peter joined forces with Michael and has since become an essential part of Southeast Roofing & Construction’s growth and success. With a deep knowledge of roofing, windows, doors, and general construction, Peter oversees a wide range of residential and commercial projects. He takes particular pride in the company’s hands-on approach—every job is treated with the same level of dedication, whether it’s a single-family home or a large-scale installation.

Peter has helped lead some of the company’s most ambitious projects, including complex shingle and metal roofing installs in Hendersonville, NC, Baton Rouge, LA, Douglasville, GA Mobile, AL and throughout the Florida Panhandle. His methodical, boots-on-the-ground leadership ensures that timelines are met, quality is upheld, and clients are kept informed every step of the way.

When he's not coordinating teams or sourcing the best materials, Peter can often be found enjoying the surf. An avid surfer, he finds balance and inspiration in the water.

A Commitment to Craftsmanship and Community

Together, Michael and Peter have built a company that’s as committed to people as it is to projects. With more than 20 years of hands-on roofing and construction experience behind them, they’ve created a business model based on trust, communication, and superior craftsmanship.

Their team specializes in roofing solutions ranging from traditional shingles to high-performance metal systems, as well as Decra stone-coated steel products that offer the best of both worlds—durability and elegance. In addition to roofing, the company is known for expert installations of windows and doors, helping customers protect and beautify their homes from the inside out.

Though their projects span multiple states, Michael and Peter have a special place in their hearts for Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties, where they’ve completed countless residential and commercial jobs. Their reputation for honest pricing, professional work, and follow-through has made them a go-to choice in the region for years.

Looking Ahead

As they continue to grow, Michael Parsons and Peter Arsuaga remain focused on what brought them into the industry in the first place: a desire to serve their community through quality construction and dependable service. They believe in doing things the right way—from the first handshake to the final inspection—and in creating structures that stand the test of time.

They take pride in every project, large or small, and are proud to serve the communities they work and live in. Whether it’s replacing a roof, installing new windows and doors, or planning a larger construction project, Michael and Peter bring the experience, commitment, and care to get it done right.

If you're looking to install a new roof, replace windows and doors, or start a more complex construction project, you can count on Michael and Peter to lead with experience, integrity, and a genuine commitment to excellence.

Hurricane preparedness is crucial to staying safe and minimizing damage in the event of a storm. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you get ready: 1. Stay Informed Monitor weather updates: Follow local weather stations, NOAA, and the National Hurricane Center for real-time updates on storm paths and intensity. Download a weather app to receive alerts about hurricanes and severe weather in your area. Know your evacuation routes and local shelters. 2. Create an Emergency Kit Your hurricane kit should include: Water: At least one gallon per person per day for 3-7 days. Non-perishable food: Canned goods, energy bars, and dry foods (enough for at least 3 days). First-aid supplies: Bandages, antiseptics, prescription medications, and over-the-counter pain relievers. Flashlights and batteries (don't rely on candles). Portable phone charger or backup power bank. Battery-powered or hand-crank radio to stay updated if power goes out. Personal hygiene items: Toilet paper, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, etc. Important documents: IDs, insurance papers, and medical records in a waterproof bag. Cash: ATMs may not be working, and cards may not be accepted during power outages. Blankets, sleeping bags, or extra clothes (depending on your needs). Pet supplies (if applicable): Food, water, leash, and medications for your pets. 3. Prepare Your Home Secure windows and doors: Install storm shutters or use plywood to cover windows. Consider adding impact-resistant glass or hurricane-rated windows. Trim trees and bushes: Remove dead branches or anything that could become a projectile. Check your roof: Repair leaks, secure loose shingles, and ensure gutters are clear. Elevate electrical appliances: If you live in a flood-prone area, consider raising appliances and electrical outlets above potential flood levels. Secure outdoor items: Bring in furniture, grills, and other objects that could blow away. 4. Know Evacuation Procedures Evacuate if necessary: Follow evacuation orders from local authorities. Don’t wait until the last minute. Have a plan for pets: Not all shelters accept pets, so make sure you know where to take them if you need to evacuate. Set up a meeting point: If your family gets separated, have a pre-determined place to meet. 5. Strengthen Your Family Plan Communication plan: Make sure everyone knows how to reach each other. Establish a point of contact outside your area in case local networks are down. Plan for elderly or disabled family members: Ensure that vulnerable family members are taken care of and have their medications or mobility aids. 6. After the Hurricane Avoid downed power lines: Stay away from fallen wires and report them to authorities. Inspect your home for damage: Check for structural issues, flooding, and leaks before re-entering. Use caution with food and water: Do not drink tap water unless authorities have declared it safe. Avoid driving in flood waters: It can be deceptively dangerous.

Hurricane clips (also called hurricane ties or straps) are metal connectors used to secure a building’s roof structure to the wall framing. They are especially important in areas prone to high winds and hurricanes. Here are the main benefits of using hurricane clips: 1. Enhanced Structural Integrity Hurricane clips securely connect roof trusses or rafters to wall top plates, reducing the risk of the roof being lifted off during high winds. They create a continuous load path, distributing wind forces more effectively from the roof down to the foundation. 2. Increased Safety By preventing roof failure, hurricane clips reduce the chance of structural collapse, protecting occupants and contents during extreme weather. 3. Compliance with Building Codes Many coastal and hurricane-prone regions (like Florida and Gulf Coast states) require hurricane clips to meet modern building codes. They help ensure code compliance during inspections and can affect building permits and insurance approvals. 4. Lower Insurance Premiums Homes with hurricane clips may qualify for wind mitigation discounts on homeowners insurance policies, potentially saving hundreds of dollars annually. 5. Cost-Effective Protection Hurricane clips are relatively inexpensive components that provide significant protection and peace of mind. Installation costs are low, especially when added during new construction. 6. Improved Property Value A home built or retrofitted with hurricane clips is seen as more resilient, potentially increasing its resale value and appeal to buyers in storm-prone regions.
